From kitchenhand to qualified chef 👨‍🍳🔥

Mack started with us back in December 2021 as a kitchenhand, spent some time out on the floor as a server, and in May 2023 began his chef apprenticeship.

Since then, he’s put in the hours, handled the pressure, learnt from many, and worked incredibly hard to finish this apprenticeship.

Watching Mack grow in confidence, skill and passion over the years has been something pretty special. We’re proud of everything he’s achieved and can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes him.

Autumn at the Alpine 🍂

This is what we’re all about- local, seasonal, fresh produce.
We’ve built our menu around what the season gives us, not the other way around.

Produce grown just down the road at Peace Farm- onions and rocket, and from Timbarra Farm- beetroot, carrots, potatoes, cauliflower, pumpkin, warragul greens and radishes.

The menu starts in the soil and ends on the plate, every season.

Still pinching ourselves… 🏆

Last night at the AHA (Vic) State Awards for Excellence, we were honoured to win Best Casual Dining - Metro.

After attending for the first time last year, taking home a win this year feels incredibly special.

This award reflects the people behind the Alpine- our kitchen team, floor staff, housekeepers, suppliers, musicians, locals, and every person who walks through our doors. Hospitality is always a team effort, and we couldn’t be prouder of what’s been built together in these last few years.

From the beginning, we’ve wanted the Alpine to feel like more than just a pub- somewhere warm, welcoming, and the kind of place people want to come back to. To be recognised amongst so many incredible venues across Victoria means the world to us.
