Congratulations Boys! Warragul Industrials Football Netball Club
We are proud to support local sport!
Last night the WGFNC played an u16s exhibition interleague game against the best u16 players from the EDFL.
Despite the team only being selected last week, the West Gippy boys looked liked they’d been playing together for years as they convincingly won the game 97 - 39.
Representing the Dusties were Regan Awty, Tom Cornwall, Nathan King and Sam Grummisch (all pictured above).
All four justified their selection in the team with multiple eye catching moments and strong efforts throughout the match.
Regan Awty was his usual in and under self, a bull at stoppages and arguably the best player on the ground. Regan predominantly played on the ball and regularly hit up forwards who were the beneficiaries of his hard work.
Tom Cornwall found himself in a new role on the wing and also played through the midfield. Tom was busy throughout the match and often found himself in space with time to use his damaging and penetrative long kick.
Nathan King showed why versatility and agility was a big factor in his selection. Nathan predominantly played in defense where he was as reliable as always before being given an opportunity to demonstrate his forward craft too.
Sam Grummisch played with energy and effort in both the forwardline and midfield. Sam was a live wire around goals, hit the scoreboard and was prominent around the stoppages where he was clean, fast and made excellent decisions.
Congratulations to all four Dusties players. We look forward to watching your football journeys progress at the Dusties and beyond!
