Ready to celebrate the end of lockdown and reconnect with friends and family?

From the 11th October, we can welcome up to 10 adults (plus children) to our award winning self contained Blue Mountains cottage.

Historic Glen Isla is located in whisper quiet Wentworth Falls. It has 6 spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and half an acre of private historic gardens to enjoy. Some of the most beautiful bushwalking tracks are just a few blocks walk from the front door.

Wonderful news for our guests!

GREAT NEWS ~ On the 6th November the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus is returning, initially for one circuit per hour on Saturdays, but ramping up later in the year.

Kids ride free and Dine and Discover vouchers are also accepted.

Our youngest Miss Mischief has been busy helping with the odd jobs around the house today. She loves exploring our gardens and pathways. A kids paradise! We’re hoping our cubby house will be in the garden next time we are up. HEADS UP ~ WE HAVE THEM ~ Rare pink flannel flowers bloom after bushfires

NOTE: There are lots on Narrow Neck, we have experienced them countless times, they are GORGEOUS. Take care, Narrow neck is a bit fragile at the moment, and the cliffs are high. The photo was a flower we photographed on Sunday.

"On a stony, bushfire-ravaged slope overlooking a Blue Mountains valley near Katoomba, NSW, ultra-rare pink flannel flowers bloom in their thousands, bringing new life and colour to landscape still charred by the fiery summer of 2019/20.

Pink flannel flowers (Actinotus forsythii) only occur in scattered parts of eastern Australia, from the Blue Mountains to north-eastern Victoria. They favour heath and open forest areas at altitude. While not endangered as a species, they appear so infrequently that many bushwalkers have never seen them.

The seeds can lay dormant for years on end, waiting for a special confluence of events forming the right conditions for their emergence – a year or so after bushfire followed by rainfall, which is exactly what the flower’s home turf experienced last year."
