Redgate Forest Retreat

Redgate Forest Retreat On 167 acres in the beautiful Margaret River region, quality, dog-friendly, self-catering accommodation with wheelchair-friendly options.

Like many of our guests, we used to escape from Perth and travel frequently to Margaret River. In 2011 we found this property and fell in love with it. By October it was ours and the journey began. As travellers, we found it difficult to find quality, dog-friendly accommodation so we set out to create a place we could be proud of and hoped that others would adopt it as their home away from home as

well. We started with the existing homestead, Maya. As we learned from our guests, we grew Redgate Forest Retreat. In 2013 we added Djarlma Chalet for couples and small families. In response to guest queries about access for family members with movement restrictions, we engaged a local builder and designed Wongin Chalet. In 2015, Wongin Chalet came online and we liked it so much, we duplicated it by building Kanana Chalet in 2017. There are exciting developments ahead, so keep watching and keep visiting! Guests often tell us that Redgate Forest Retreat is even better in person than they imagined from the photos. So, we invited photographer extraordinaire Peter Hughes to capture the magic properly and now we have a stunning new gallery brightening up our website.
We still have availability during the first week of the Margaret River Open Studios. Book directly via our website:

The best of both worlds — the quiet serenity of open farmland and the enviable pull of the coast. It’s a rare kind of beauty at Redgate Forest Retreat.

If it’s serenity you’re chasing, you’ll find it at Redgate Forest Retreat.
We may sit just outside town, but that’s exactly the charm — quiet mornings, tall trees, and space to breathe. Only ten minutes from Margaret River, with the stunning Redgate Beach waiting at the end of Redgate Road. ❤️

Bettenay’s in Cowaramup certainly know how to make enjoying wine easy and fuss‑free. Their clever and practical canned wines are perfect for days out and relaxed get‑togethers. And while you’re there, their nougat is absolutely worth a visit to the cellar door!

Bittersweet. A very lovely friend of mine came all the way over from Victoria to look after Redgate and the cattle while I was on holidays. It was great spending time together in this beautiful part of WA when we returned from holidays, however it was sad watching as she said goodbye to Ubi and Victor this morning. Thank you for your help - we are all going to miss you! ❤️
