After spending many years in Woodenbong Dean and I have decided to leave. We are going to sell our 15 acre block of land, house, cottage and shed. The block is situated a few minutes from the village by car, and about 10 mins walking. The block shares a boundary with Lindsay Creek, Grahams Creek and Tooloom Creek. In the past we have run 8 cattle and 2-3 horses. We are looking at offers of around $850,000. We can be contacted to view the property by email ([email protected]) or mobile 0447228768. We are only interested in genuine buyers, not lookers. A few photos have been added of the house, accommodation and shed.

Last weekend we visited Bean Creek Falls which are located between Urbenville and Old Bonalbo. The Naional Parks team at Kyogle cleared a track to the viewing platform and the falls definitely have the WOW effect. An added bonus was spotting a long neck turtle swimming at the base of the falls and admiring the forest surrounding the falls.
We've had the coldest winter I have experienced for many years. The frosty mornings are wonderful. Nice to get out the jumpers and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace.
The farrier visited Rosie too.

As you may know, we operate off the grid and are totally dependent on solar power saved to batteries. We have lived this way for 15 years. Last year we updated our solar panels and bought 4 new batteries to replace our old batteries that were failing after 15 years of service. There is a lot of talk about solar power at the moment. Just wanted to let you know that during Cyclone George we never lost power during those 5 wet days. Many people in the Northern Rivers did, including houses in Woodenbong. During Mar/April this year we have run our little generator on only three occasions for an hour each time to top up the batteries. We run our house and the cottage on solar power. We run lights, fridges, washing machine, toaster, iron, vacuum cleaner, TV's, computer, etc. We also use gas for cooking and boiling the kettle and hot water. To all those out there who are sceptics, solar + gas works well.

During the last week we received about 300mm of rain here. We are at the Junction of three creeks (Lindsay, Graham's and Tooloom) that run into the Clarence River further downstream. All is well.
A couple of weeks ago Dean and his mate, Al, worked the horses in tandem. Dean said people around here worked horses in tandem clearing the bush, moving timber and pulling loaded tip drays up a hill.
