So, after 17yrs & 5 months exactly of managing the Woomera Traveller's Village & Caravan Park,
Owning/managing the Cudgee Bar today we say,
‘Cheers’ to an enjoyable era in our lives as the park is closed permanently.
We have had some fantastic times & met people from all over this magnificent country & from around the World.
Laughs & drinks a plenty.
Musicians that entertained us & some friends for life.
We’ve also had some not so fantastic times with some of the arseholes who tour around thinking that the World owes them for some reason or another, how wrong they were when they butted heads with me!
After working 9hrs a day / 7 days per week & always on call after hours it will be nice to enjoy some ‘down’ time at home with the family before starting a new chapter in our lives.
Who knows what the future holds??
Jen & I would like to personally thank our staff because as we all know, no staff, no park.
Bar maid / cleaner Margo, thanks for the past year+ of service.
Bobbie, cleaner/ barmaid/ office manager outstanding, what more can we say to your efforts, the butt of many a short joke & the regular Bobbie head after a night on the turps.
Jamie, our barman, cleaner, office manager, Godfather to our Son Cooper, friend & most of all, family. We’ve lost count on how many times you’ve quit or been sacked but always turned up the next day as expected.
12 yrs, 9 months, 23 days of commitment to a small business in a small town. Amazing.
Jenifer who was at this park before me, working together had its challenges but I wouldn’t change it for the World and raising a family almost alone, due to me at work, has been greatly appreciated even if I haven’t expressed it as much as I should have.
Gas is off, power is off, doors are locked.
The park is in my rear view as I drive out for the very last time.
So this, our last post, we sign off with heavy hearts and sincere gratitude to all of you for your support and memories that we will forever treasure.
Cheers
Hoffy and Jen
