Construction of Bribie Island Bridge! Construction started in 1961 and was officially opened in October 1963. Prior to the bridge the only way on to the island was by Ferry.
Did you know at the opening of the bridge there was toll of 10 shillings, equivalent to $14.70 in today's money!
