We are Hiring – Join the Team .road
Steel Road is a furniture workshop known for high-quality custom timber furniture; we also specialise in steam bending. We work with architects, designers, builders and residential clients to produce hand crafted, one-off pieces, that are built to last.
We’re expanding in 2026 and looking for new team members across a range of roles and experience levels.
We have the following positions available.
* Full-time
* Part-time
* Casual
* Short term contract work
* Apprenticeships
If you have experience in furniture making, woodwork, manufacture, cabinet making or fabrication, or are simply looking to build a career in hands-on making, we’d like to hear from you.
Bonus points if you have experience in:
* Joinery or cabinet making
* Timber furniture manufacture
* Workshop maintenance
We value a positive work ethic, reliability, ability to follow instruction and a strong attention to detail. We work in a close-knit team and take pride in delivering thoughtful, high-quality work for our clients.
What we offer:
* $30 - $50 per hour (Plus Super) depending on experience, skill level and role.
* Above award rate paid to Apprentices

* For the right candidate, we will pay travel allowance if living outside Yackandandah
