Built in 1903. Rebuilt after a fire in the 1930s. Over 120 years of honeymooners, surfers, wanderers and locals finding their way to this corner of the South West.

When we took on the custodianship of Caves House a decade ago, we knew we weren’t just running a hotel. We were looking after a piece of West Australian history.

Whoever holds this place next carries that same responsibility — and it’s one we’re confident the Fini family understands. The heritage facade, the gardens, the character that can’t be replicated — it’s all protected.

The bakery and general store will continue operating as they always have. Local employment and connection to this community remains a priority.

Caves House will continue to be the heart of this community.

After more than 10 years, we have some news to share. Neil and Libby have made the decision to pass the baton at Caves House Hotel — and finding the right person to hand it to has been the most important part of that decision. We’re proud to share that Caves House is staying in West Australian hands.

The incoming owner is Adrian Fini, a proud West Australian with a genuine love for this part of the world and a deep respect for what makes Caves House what it is.

This place has been so much more than a business to us. It’s been 10 years of sunsets over the Indian Ocean, live music in the beer garden, weddings in the heritage gardens, honeymooners and surfers and locals and travellers — all finding their way here, just as they have for more than 120 years.

The building and gardens are protected. The community spirit that makes this place tick is safe. And the best chapters of Caves House are still ahead.
