During peak periods, we recommend our guests head into Wilsons Prom early in the day, before the day trippers make their way down, or after 5pm when many day trippers have headed home, to be able to park at popular spots.

Heading to Wilsons Prom this summer? Make sure you plan ahead!

Wilsons Promontory is one of Victoria’s most loved destinations, and summer is our busiest time. To make sure your visit is safe and enjoyable, here's what you can expect this season:

🚦 Traffic control at Tidal River and Squeaky Beach on Boxing Day and Australia Day weekends
🚗 Reduced speed limits in busy areas
🚌 Shuttle Bus from Tidal River to Telegraph Saddle (9am–6pm daily during school holidays)

These measures will help reduce congestion, improve safety, and protect the Prom’s precious places and wildlife – so you can focus on enjoying the beaches, trails, and stunning views.

Ranger tip: Our campsites are booked out for the summer holidays. If you don’t have a campsite booking, consider visiting at a quieter time outside the peak period for a better experience 🌟
