I recently stayed at this beautiful and peaceful Airbnb in the hills of Gawler, South Australia, and it truly exceeded all expectations. The location offers a perfect blend of Australian outback charm and modern comfort. Everywhere you look, you’re surrounded by stunning natural scenery — rolling grassy hills, iconic gumtrees, and an abundance of local flora and fauna that make the setting feel authentically Australian.

Despite the peaceful seclusion, the cabin is only a quick 10-minute drive to the Gawler town centre, which is full of wonderful shops and fantastic restaurants. It’s the ideal balance of quiet country living and convenient access to everything you need.

One of my favourite parts of the stay was relaxing in the gazebo at sunset. The serenity is unmatched — watching the sky change colours over the hills is something truly special. The property itself feels like a cosy farm stay, with friendly sheep wandering nearby, a bird aviary out thr back with chickens and quails, and the sweetest house dogs, mild Millie and rascally Rulf (who is still learning the ropes and full of play & charm) 🐕

The cabin is spotless and comfortable, with a double bed in the main bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living area — perfect for couples, solo travellers, or small groups. Outside, there’s a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and BBQ area right beside the underground heated pool, which makes for a perfect place to unwind.

For those seeking a romantic escape, the spa overlooking the hills is absolutely magical — enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the views, or simply soak in the peaceful atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, quality time with friends or family, or a quiet solo retreat, this Airbnb offers a truly unforgettable experience.

What a weekend it has been at the Ureka BnB!
Did you think we were only fun in the summer months?! Well your wrong, there's plenty fun to be had up here in winter too :)

We had a big bonfire 🔥 and cooked our dinner on the coals. We wrapped up potatoes, mushrooms, onion and bacon in alfoil with lots of butter and let them roast in the depth of the fire. This lead to a yummy dinner of baked spuds with that unbeatable charcoal flavour through it. If you stay at the BnB you can do the same thing with our fire pit providing its not been declared a fire ban day.

We relaxed in the hot spa whilst enjoying the views of the hills that are so much greener now there has been some rain. The pool was even warm enough for a dip too. Luckily we had the towel warmer going so we could wrap up in warm towels when we got out.

So if you haven't been to visit us since the summer then now is a good time for a winter escape! Message us on here to book directly at a cheaper price than AirBnB.

Happy New Year relaxing by the pool.

Convenient location, 2 minutes to cellar doors, 10 minutes to Gawler and shops, 20 minutes to Lyndoch and more Barossa wineries, 30 minutes to Lobethal.
