Some mornings, the valley disappears beneath the mist.
The hills become quiet, the landscape softens — and for a moment, it feels like we’re somewhere far away.
But this is Yea, in Victoria’s Murrindindi region. Under 2 hours from Melbourne.
Eight years ago, none of this was here.
Just 51 acres of bare grazing land and an idea of what it could become.
Slowly, we transformed the land. The animals came first - cow, horses, alpacas, chicken, ducks and the farm pets kept growing from there. We planted vegetable gardens and fruit orchards, built our kitchen and dining space, and created just five luxury guest suites overlooking the valley.
Today, much of what we cook begins only a few minutes’ walk from our kitchen.
We grow with the seasons, cook with the seasons and eat with the seasons. What is abundant now is enjoyed now — or preserved as kimchi, jang, cheong, pickles and ferments to carry the season forward.
The farm shapes our table, and the seasons shape the way we live.
Eight years on, this is House of Mi-Rin.
Come stay with us, share our table and experience this little place in the valley for yourself.
