👑 York, 1954. Can you recognise it?

More than 70 years ago, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip made their first visit to York as part of the historic 1954 Royal Tour of Australia.

The scenery has changed a little, but look closely and there are some very familiar landmarks...

⛰️ Around 1:01, Wongborel/Mt Brown appears in the background as the royal car is believed to travel along Glebe Street.

🏭 At 1:51, you’ll spot the Forrest Oval Precinct and the unmistakable York Flour Mill.

A fitting look back for today’s King’s Birthday public holiday. 👑
