Welcome to Heritage Hotel Villa Fortuna

When travelling to the middle southern Adriatic region, you will come across many interesting sights. Mostar should stay in the memory for many years. It is a charming town which can be easily reached by train or plane. Mostar is reputed for its stone buildings and an architerure which makes a wonderful combination of Oriental and Mediteranean styles. Its Neretve river displays magnificently emerald green light as it flows through the town. Its deep and fast flowing water cuts out some of the most outstanding canyon features in Europe. Mostar will take your on a journey across past times with elegance and nostalgia.

Villa Fortuna, a very cosy family hotel is situated in the UNESCO protected zone in a stone’s throw from the Old Town (150m). The hotel is run by the Bijavica family, who can trace their ancestry in this area from the 16th century. Family Bijavica is very keen to preserve the way of life in Herzegovina, in its culture and values. There is an exceptional opportunity to see a part of that history at first hand by visiting the stone house, which was build in the hotel garden and it is now open to all guests staying at our hotel. Herzegovina’s stone house is built ecologically to symbolise both the past and the present for the region. There are various artifacts from the 16th century on display which will take you on a journey of how daily life occurred from the past to the present. You will be abe to dine on the food and wine delights representing the loacal famous wines Zilavka and Blatina. During yoru stay you will have access to the garden, free wifi and a welcome drink.
