At the Global Sourcing Summit 2026, held on 3–4 June 2026 at IMPACT Exhibition Center, Bangkok, on the sidelines of the 2nd Asia Sourcing Show (Textiles & Apparel), Mr. Asef Kamal Pasha, Director of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGMEA), delivered a compelling presentation that challenged the industry to rethink sourcing beyond competition - and embrace collaboration.

His presentation highlighted a powerful vision: the future of sourcing will not be built on fragmented supply chains, but on a connected, trusted, and resilient Asian sourcing ecosystem.

From discussing the global sourcing reset and shifting trade dynamics to emphasising Asia’s unmatched manufacturing diversity and Bangladesh’s leadership in sustainability, the session put forward an important message - no single country can win the future alone.

Key themes from the presentation included:

✅ Building regional sourcing synergies across Asia

✅ Strengthening responsible and sustainable manufacturing

✅ Advancing from production to design, branding, and innovation

✅ Creating coordinated ESG frameworks and trusted sourcing partnerships

✅ Positioning Bangladesh and Asia as leaders of the next sourcing era

One message resonated strongly across the hall:

সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী ও বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন বেগম খালেদা জিয়া–র মহাপ্রয়াণে আমরা গভীরভাবে শোকাহত।
তার দীর্ঘ রাজনৈতিক জীবন, আপসহীন নেতৃত্ব এবং গণতন্ত্রের জন্য অবদান জাতি চিরদিন স্মরণ করবে।
আল্লাহ তায়ালা তাকে জান্নাতুল ফেরদৌস নসিব করুন এবং শোকসন্তপ্ত পরিবার ও দলীয় সহকর্মীদের এই শোক সইবার শক্তি দিন।

We are deeply saddened to share that my beloved uncle, Mr. Mostafa Kamal Pasha (Taposh), younger brother of our honorable Chairman Mr. Anwar Kamal Pasha, passed away today at 6:10 PM at United Hospital.

Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Rajiun.

His Janaza will be held tomorrow after Johor at Khilgaon Shahi Mosque.

During this moment of profound grief, I humbly request your prayers for the departed soul. May Allah, the Most Merciful, forgive him, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and fill his grave with Noor.
