These young hens are slowly getting used to the others.
A bit of distance for now — curiosity on both sides.

Here, nothing really goes to waste.
What remains from the kitchen finds its way back into the garden.
And in return, we get fresh eggs for breakfast.

The Procession of the Holy Blood is one of the city’s most meaningful traditions — a centuries-old procession where history, devotion and storytelling come together in the streets of Bruges.

🌿 What an inspiring day at the stakeholder event on Sustainable Tourism & Hospitality at VIVES University of Applied Sciences in Bruges.

Very grateful to share the story behind B&B Royal Swans with an international audience from Belgium, Ecuador, Uganda and Vietnam — and to speak about sustainability not as a trend, but as something that lives in daily choices, small details and the way hospitality is designed from the start.

Today we celebrate all mothers — the strong, the caring, the missed, the hopeful, and the ones who carry love in so many different ways.

At B&B Royal Swans, one of our rooms is dedicated to Mary of Burgundy — a remarkable woman, mother and historical figure whose legacy still lives on in Bruges.

Snow falling over Bruges.
Warm light in the street.

Together with our neighbours in Karel de Stoutelaan, we hung 30,000 lights to brighten the dark winter days — one street, one shared effort, one calm winter atmosphere.

At B&B Royal Swans, we believe hospitality starts outside the front door: with neighbours, care for place, and small gestures that make a city feel warm.

Some places are made for love. ✨
At the Minnewater in Bruges — where “minne” means love — our guest Nicola was asked the most beautiful question. And she said yes. ❤️

Back at B&B Royal Swans, in our Louis of Gruuthuse Suite, history quietly became a witness once more.
When we heard the happy news, we did what we love most: we switched gears and added some surprises to their breakfast — two eggs, one yes, a bottle of champagne and a red heart balloon. 🍳❤️🎈

Moments like these show exactly why Bruges is made for romance — and why we love doing what we do.
