This week we were delighted to host not one, but two conferences in our beautiful city. The conference of Magec Doucy, a confectionery wholesalers' mutual purchasing group from France, was held in the state-of-the-art Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre. The conference dinner took place in the authentic brewery Brouwerij De Halve Maan.

Around 170 grantee and foundation partners from across Europe gathered in Concertgebouw Brugge the first Civitates Forum. Civil society organisations, independent media actors and philanthropic partners exchanged experiences and reflected on the challenges facing democracy today — from shrinking civic space and pressure on independent journalism to the growing influence of major digital platforms.

Delegates had a good night sleep in hotels NH Brugge, Le Bois De Bruges and Grand Hotel Casselbergh Brugge.
