📰 HAKUNA MATATA IN THE NEWS!
🏡 Holidays are meant to be enjoyed, but a little respect goes a long way, doesn't it? 😉
From November 20, Airbnb is changing its rules. Hosts will no longer be allowed to require guests to wash the dishes or strip the beds before checking out.
Journalist Tom De Leur asked us to share our thoughts on these changes.
At Hakuna Matata, we've been welcoming guests for 18 years, so we know just how much work goes on behind the scenes to keep a holiday home running smoothly.
🧹 We certainly don't expect our guests to do a deep clean. That's our job! But leaving the property tidy, loading the dishwasher and treating the accommodation with respect? We believe that's simply common courtesy.
💬 "Not leaving dirty dishes behind is a matter of respect, especially for the guests arriving after you."
And perhaps Airbnb should focus more on the bigger issues facing the holiday rental industry.
We continuously invest in quality, safety and comfort, and we comply with all legal requirements. Unfortunately, not every holiday rental operates to the same standards.
Rules are important, but they should remain fair and practical for hosts who are committed to doing things properly
❤️ Because at the end of the day, holiday rentals are all about hospitality, mutual respect and happy guests!
A big thank you to journalist Tom De Leur for the interview and for giving holiday home owners a voice.
