A softbox is a directional source. Where a lantern wraps, a softbox focuses and diffuses the light, with a defined falloff. The shape of that falloff, and how quickly it transitions, is where the differences between modifiers start to matter.

Straight from our inventory, the Aputure Light Dome II, III and Quick Dome 90 all share the same parabolic geometry and a front diameter of 90cm. These domes are perfect for small setups with limited subjects. There is no right or wrong, but clients choose these for corporate interviews & portraits or when space is limited.

The Light Dome 150 is essentially very similar, but the dimensions have a great effect on how the light is modified. The diffusion cloth is placed farther away from the light source which results in softer more diffused light. The diffused surface area is a lot bigger then our traditional domes, so the gentle light will cover a greater area. The transition from light to shadow reads closer to a large window than an typical light fixture.

The era of heavy, oversized rigs is fading. Compact cine builds are the standard in 2026.

This is a refined build, where the Sony Cine FX6’ sensor rewards the glass selection! We don’t have to tell you the camera has great dual base ISO or internal ND’s (yep, I know you are already convinced for some time), but we want to highlight the combination of beautiful glass with the infamous Sony sensor. Clients experience the images from this gen sensor as clean, but it seems to have a slight color shift and footage can have a digital feel.

When choosing a lens for the FX6, try to aim for glass with a little more character. This results in vastly different images that immediately imprint the signature of your craftsmanship.

This adapter starts to get more and more traction!

Do you crave to use legacy Super 35 PL-lenses, but are you faced with the luxury problem of having a FF sensor? This handy tool can solve this for you! The Atlas Lens Co. 1.6x LF Extender was originally designed to expand the image circle from Orion series lenses to a full frame sensor, but it works with other S35 glass too!

While expanding the projection, it multiplies the focal length of the lens with 1.6. For instance, a focal length of 35mm becomes 56mm when the adapter is used.

There is one condition: the rear element should have enough clearance. This should be checked beforehand, but if it fits, it’s a life saver on camera’s as the Sony Cine FX6.

The Original Aputure Spotlight Mount (26°) stands out as one of the most popular and reliable light modifiers for precise control of your light beam. It delivers clean and sharply defined light that helps you sculpt your scenes.

Included with the mount are three B-size gobos. A Tree, Window, and abstract shapes. These tools allow you to add depth and atmosphere without complicating your setup.

We also use it regularly in-house to create our social content, putting its versatility and refined controls to the test across a wide range of situations. While keeping our shooting setup to a minimum, this modifiers allows us to switch the scene up in an instant.

For those who want to use fixtures in a fresh way, this modifier is the one that redefines your light!

The newest addition to our follow focuses is a clear step forward for focus pullers. Tilta added a handy lens mapping workflow to the new Nucleus-M II. The new system calibrates faster, holds position more accurately and makes repeatable marks dependable across a full shooting day.

Instead of the usual disk markings and having a handful of arrows at your fingertips, everything can be done digitally in a reliable way. Lenses can be manually mapped by logging each marking in the FIZ Unit which takes around 5 minutes per lens. Yes, this includes focus, iris AND zoom. We’ve tested it extensively on both primes and cine zooms (such as the Angenieux Lenses and Blazar Lens Remus) and are happy to recommend it. Just be aware, this is not something you want to do on the day of your project.

We are eager to assist with lens mapping in our prep space 📏

Last year, Liene Cuyt shot her project “Scherven” with an enthusiastic team of co-students. They had a basic Sony Cine FX6 kit from their school, but came to us to complement their gear list.

They went on a trip and took with them:

- Leitz Cine Leica R vintage set
- Vocas Sales & Services MB-430 matte box to use on rods
- The Tiffen Company Black Pro-Mists
- Easyrig Cinema 3
- Atomos SUMO 19 Monitor

The stills speak for themselves. The DOP exactly knew how to precisely manage the distinctive rendering of the vintage glass. The team seemed to worked together closely to develop every aspect of the project as good as possible. Liene’s short is an example of how the right tools and teamwork elevate a project together. Excellent work of the full team!

IronGlass is a Ukrainian 🇺🇦 company dedicated to the rehousing of still photography lenses. They focus mainly on Soviet-era lenses, but are gradually offering rehousings for other optics as well.

The core of their line-up, originally manufactured for 35mm photography in the USSR, have long been admired for their swirly bokeh, low contrast, and rich colour rendering. All fun and games, but in their original form, they were never meant for use on a film project. IronGlass changed that!

By fully rehousing the optics into standardised, durable cine housings, with unified focus gears, consistent front diameters, and smoother mechanics, they've turned these unique vintage lenses into reliable tools. The result is a set of lenses with unmistakable character: flares that feel organic, fall-off that softens the frame edges, and a painterly image that can't be easily replicated with modern glass.

We carry an IronGlass Mark 1 Soviet rehoused set in our inventory for filmmakers who want something with personality. They're not sterile and they’re not perfect, but that's exactly the point.
