This adapter starts to get more and more traction!

Do you crave to use legacy Super 35 PL-lenses, but are you faced with the luxury problem of having a FF sensor? This handy tool can solve this for you! The Atlas Lens Co. 1.6x LF Extender was originally designed to expand the image circle from Orion series lenses to a full frame sensor, but it works with other S35 glass too!

While expanding the projection, it multiplies the focal length of the lens with 1.6. For instance, a focal length of 35mm becomes 56mm when the adapter is used.

There is one condition: the rear element should have enough clearance. This should be checked beforehand, but if it fits, it’s a life saver on camera’s as the Sony Cine FX6.

The Original Aputure Spotlight Mount (26°) stands out as one of the most popular and reliable light modifiers for precise control of your light beam. It delivers clean and sharply defined light that helps you sculpt your scenes.

Included with the mount are three B-size gobos. A Tree, Window, and abstract shapes. These tools allow you to add depth and atmosphere without complicating your setup.

We also use it regularly in-house to create our social content, putting its versatility and refined controls to the test across a wide range of situations. While keeping our shooting setup to a minimum, this modifiers allows us to switch the scene up in an instant.

For those who want to use fixtures in a fresh way, this modifier is the one that redefines your light!

The newest addition to our follow focuses is a clear step forward for focus pullers. Tilta added a handy lens mapping workflow to the new Nucleus-M II. The new system calibrates faster, holds position more accurately and makes repeatable marks dependable across a full shooting day.

Instead of the usual disk markings and having a handful of arrows at your fingertips, everything can be done digitally in a reliable way. Lenses can be manually mapped by logging each marking in the FIZ Unit which takes around 5 minutes per lens. Yes, this includes focus, iris AND zoom. We’ve tested it extensively on both primes and cine zooms (such as the Angenieux Lenses and Blazar Lens Remus) and are happy to recommend it. Just be aware, this is not something you want to do on the day of your project.

We are eager to assist with lens mapping in our prep space 📏

Last year, Liene Cuyt shot her project “Scherven” with an enthusiastic team of co-students. They had a basic Sony Cine FX6 kit from their school, but came to us to complement their gear list.

They went on a trip and took with them:

- Leitz Cine Leica R vintage set
- Vocas Sales & Services MB-430 matte box to use on rods
- The Tiffen Company Black Pro-Mists
- Easyrig Cinema 3
- Atomos SUMO 19 Monitor

The stills speak for themselves. The DOP exactly knew how to precisely manage the distinctive rendering of the vintage glass. The team seemed to worked together closely to develop every aspect of the project as good as possible. Liene’s short is an example of how the right tools and teamwork elevate a project together. Excellent work of the full team!

IronGlass is a Ukrainian 🇺🇦 company dedicated to the rehousing of still photography lenses. They focus mainly on Soviet-era lenses, but are gradually offering rehousings for other optics as well.

The core of their line-up, originally manufactured for 35mm photography in the USSR, have long been admired for their swirly bokeh, low contrast, and rich colour rendering. All fun and games, but in their original form, they were never meant for use on a film project. IronGlass changed that!

By fully rehousing the optics into standardised, durable cine housings, with unified focus gears, consistent front diameters, and smoother mechanics, they've turned these unique vintage lenses into reliable tools. The result is a set of lenses with unmistakable character: flares that feel organic, fall-off that softens the frame edges, and a painterly image that can't be easily replicated with modern glass.

We carry an IronGlass Mark 1 Soviet rehoused set in our inventory for filmmakers who want something with personality. They're not sterile and they’re not perfect, but that's exactly the point.

Precision and control while focus pulling just got an upgrade! Say hello to our new Tilta Nucleus-M II, The Ultimate Kit, a wireless follow focus system designed to deliver faster lens mapping, better responsiveness and rock-solid connection.

It has a 2.4” touchscreen (and too many additional small screens) and both a detachable electronic marking disk and traditional interchangeable disks. The motors are smaller, but stronger than its predecessors. Briefly said: It’s a welcome upgrade of the original and has little to no competition in it’s price range.

Curious to experience it firsthand? Slide into our dms and book your slot in our warehouse to try it out!

The Angenieux Lenses EZ-1 and EZ-2 remain two of the finest zooms in our inventory: versatile, compact (for a cine zoom ⚙️) and reliable.

Each lens can be configured for either Super35 or Full Frame coverage by swapping the rear optical block. This is a service we handle in-house at CAMRENT. Depending on the camera you're using, just let us know what coverage you need. FYI: we can change the default PL-mount also to something else.

With the FF rear optical block, the lenses have a focal length of 45–135 mm T3 (EZ-1) and 22–60mm T3 (EZ-2). In S35 mode, you get a 30–90mm T2 for the EZ-1 and a 15–40mm T2 for the EZ-2.

Both versions offer the same mechanical precision and optical consistency Angénieux is known for. Whether you're working on a fast-paced shoot or something more controlled, these lenses hold up, technically and aesthetically.

And as usual, they are available to test in our prep space!

Change is the only constant, or is it the Sony Cine FX6? Over the years, we noticed trends among filmmakers. From looking for the most perfect, clinical lens, to building the biggest, heaviest rig to impress your clients.

Today is all about efficiency. Amongst all camera bodies, the FX6 is the clear winner. You can use the camera straight as Sony intended, or thanks to the rigging accessories from Tilta , Bright Tangerine and Vocas Sales & Services build a small rig that can easily be used for demanding projects.

We built this setup with your favourite lenses of the moment: the Blazar Lens Remus set in combination with the new Tilta Nucleus-M II follow focus. With time, our camera gear does get smaller, but the possibilities become greater while keeping the production budget under control.

Inspired to try it out? Come say hello in our prep space!

It’s decided! The winner of this year’s Pitch & Win contest is Morena Schwärzwalder with her pitch for Pinkbull. Together with DOP Arthur Moelants, they will bring an important story about a female bodybuilder. The pitch for their short convinced us because it was bold and ambitious, yet seemed realistic to pull it off. They will work with a tight team on their production and their project has an international aspect as well. In the end, the combination of a strong vision for their cinematography and the overall message of the film were the final aspects that made us choose them. Congratulations, the CAMRENT team is looking forward to the project!

We want to thank all participants in our contest, it was truly an honor to read all your wild ideas (yes, we read everything). To be fully transparent, there were multiple strong submissions head to head this year and the decision was not taken lightly. We sincerely hope you keep creating and writing authentic beautiful shorts that try something new.
