Dag iedereen, graag geef ik wat meer uitleg over de verhuizing van het beeld 'The Hauntings'. Nadat het beeld sinds 2017 op verschillende plekken in het Verenigd Koninkrijk heeft gestaan, werd het vorig jaar naar Ieper overgebracht vanwege de symbolische locatie bij de Menenpoort. Dit gebeurde op verzoek van de kunstenaars zelf. Naar mijn mening is Ieper de perfecte plek, zonder twijfel!
Het beeld is echter bedoeld om op verschillende locaties stil te staan bij herdenking, aangezien er op vele plaatsen oorlog is gevoerd. Na drie maanden werd de verblijf periode in Ieper verlengd, maar na 6,5 maand moest het beeld daar uiteindelijk toch plaatsmaken. Wij zien de Pondfarm als een waardevolle tussenstop; de locatie hier in de open velden voelt zeer symbolisch aan, omdat hier zwaar is gevochten en er nog steeds soldaten vermist zijn.
Het beeld verhuist in juni naar Frankrijk. Uiteindelijk moet 'The Hauntings' terugkeren naar de plek van herkomst: het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Zie het als een reizende manier van herdenken; het beeld blijft niet ergens staan puur omdat het mooi in de omgeving past."

Hi everyone, I would like to provide some context regarding the relocation of 'The Hauntings' sculpture. After being displayed at various locations across the UK since 2017, the sculpture was moved to Ypres last year because of its symbolic significance near the Menin Gate. This move was made at the request of the artists themselves. In my opinion, Ypres is—without a doubt—the perfect location.
However, the purpose of this sculpture is to encourage remembrance in many different places, acknowledging that war was waged in numerous locations. After an initial three months, the stay in Ypres was extended, but after 6.5 months, the sculpture eventually had to make way. We view Pondfarm as an important stopover; the location here in the open fields feels deeply symbolic, as this was the site of intense fighting and many soldiers remain missing here to this day.
The sculpture will move to france in june Ultimately, 'The Hauntings' must return to its place of origin, the UK. It should be seen as a journey of commemoration—it doesn't stay in one place just because it fits the scenery, but because of the message it carries."
