I wasn't looking for this today.

It was "journée potagers ouverts" in Namur, and I only meant to stay twenty minutes. Then a man who seems to know the name of every wild plant in Namur started talking, two people were having a very serious conversation about bird nests, and somewhere along the way I lost a good moment to a hammock.

There's a little sign on the wall of that garden: plante avec amour, récolte avec joie. Feels like the right way to sum up the whole afternoon.

This is exactly the kind of Namur I love pointing my guests toward — not the postcard version, the lived-in one.

Sans alcool, mais clairement pas sans caractère. 🍻

La Houla Houppe fait un tabac… et vu vos retours, on dirait bien que vous l’avez adoptée.

Notre première bière sans alcool, c’est une blonde à 0,3 %, bien houblonnée, avec une belle amertume et une touche de zeste d’orange qui apporte juste ce qu’il faut de fraîcheur. Le tout, sans sucre ajouté.

Pas une bière choisie « par défaut ».
Une vraie bonne bière, pensée pour garder le goût et le plaisir, même quand on passe son tour sur l’alcool.

Le genre de bière qu’on ouvre à l’apéro, en semaine, après une longue journée… ou simplement parce qu’on en a envie.

Bref, sans alcool, oui. Sans plaisir, jamais. 😏

One of my favourite parts of hosting at ZannA House is discovering experiences that I know my guests will remember long after their trip.
Recently, I joined Laurent from Trott-exploration Namur for an off-road electric scooter ride through the forests surrounding the Citadel of Namur.
It wasn't just about riding a scooter.
It was about discovering another side of Namur: hidden forest paths, breathtaking views over the Meuse Valley, quiet corners that many visitors never see, and even an unexpected encounter with the famous Namur stilt walkers practising in the park.
It's exactly the kind of experience I love recommending: authentic, fun and deeply connected to the place.

One of the things I love most about Namur is that you can turn a simple walk into an unexpected experience.

This morning, I crossed Place Maurice Servais... and a free concert was filling the square with music. People stopped, smiled, danced, applauded. Even a few dogs seemed happy to stay a little longer.

It's only a 2-minute walk from ZannA House, and it's exactly the kind of local moment I hope my guests get to experience during their stay.

If you're planning a summer getaway to Namur, try to be here on a Sunday morning. Sometimes the best memories aren't the ones you planned.
