It still looks like a mess, but we’ve removed the kitchen door in order to create a better connection between the kitchen and the living room.

And I had a fight with a crow bar, I think I lost in more than one way 😂😂

Yesterday we thought we’d start renovating the chalet after just over eightteen months since the flooding.
A dear friend put the right words to the pic: at least we’ve made a mark 😅
The river left a gooey mudlayer in the grass and we dug 4 beautiful holes in the field before finding a friendly neighbour with a tractor 😂
A big shoutout to Jérémy and his little red strong friend 👏🏻💪🏻

More than a year after the flooding, the road has finally been patched up.
We’ll have to wait another couple of weeks to see what’s the gouvernor’s response and than we can start planning reconstruction.
Structural integrity seems good, so there’s hope 😃

Airbnb is giving us a hard time! They refuse to cancel the upcoming reservations, while we are clearly overpowered by the floodings.
Either our guests or we would have pay a fine per cancellation, even though cancellations ard not our choice, but due to floodings of the gravest kind!
Let’s hope someone at AirBnB customer service reads this, this is bad CX!!

Onze chalet kan je niet zien op deze foto, hij staat achter de boom links. Dit is de straat, gisteren rond 16h. Ondertussen staat het water nog 1,5 meter hoger.
We houden ons hart vast 😢😢
