Oorspronkelijk was dit een boerderij, maar de Werfhoeve heeft gedurende de laatste decennia verschillende bestemmingen gehad :
- 1978 : discotheek, feestzaal en restaurant
- 1984 : feestzaal en drukkerij
- 2004 : drukkerij en B & B
Tot ... 16 december 2009 : de Werfhoeve werd aangekocht door het echtpaar Urbain en Loes Boonen-Peeters, samen met hun kinderen Lennert en Imke. Sindsdien on
derging de Werfhoeve grote veranderingen :
- elke industriële activiteit ( drukkerij, parket,... ) werd stopgezet
- de daken werden vernieuwd
- de hele B & B werd opgeknapt : keuken, living, verwarming, kamers,...
B & B Werfhoeve is gelegen vlakbij Mechelen en toch zeer rustig, in argrarisch gebied. De ooievaars van Planckendael komen tot vlakbij in de omliggende weilanden. Brussel, Antwerpen en Leuven liggen binnen een straal van 25 km en zijn zowel via openbaar vervoer als de autostrade E19 vlot bereikbaar. Het is een ideale uitvalsbasis voor een verblijf waar ontspanning, sport, cultuur, gastronomie, natuur en rust gecombineerd kunnen worden.

B & B 'Werfhoeve' is situated in a completely renovated farm house property with a cosy courtyard and large garden - dating back to about 1900. Starting out as a farm, the 'Werfhoeve' has gone through several phases of destination during recent decades :
- 1978 : discotheque, ballroom and restaurant
- 1984 : ballroom and printing office
- 2004 : printing office and B & B
Until ... December 16 2009 : The 'Werfhoeve' was acquired by the married couple Urbain en Loes Boonen-Peeters, together with their children Lennert en Imke. Since then the 'Werfhoeve' has been completely transformed :
- all industrial activities ( printing office, parquetry,... ) were stopped
- all roofs were renovated
- the entire B & B was refurbished : kitchen, living room, central heating, rooms, ...
B & B Werfhoeve is located near the town of Mechelen, yet in a quiet and rustic area. The storks of the nearby zoo 'Planckendael' are regular visitors to our surrounding pastures. Brussels, Antwerp en Louvain are all within a reach of 25 km and easily accessible by public transport as well as via the E19 motorway.
