One historical house returned to life

the house on the hill was built in the distant 1890 by rich tailor Georgi Kendidenoglu to be the dowry of his daughter Eleni. The famous master builder Hadji Gheorghe was called to build it. In his book “Moniment”, Konstantin Moravevov describes the house as a big home with many rooms, marvelous carvings and a place for marvelous dinners ...

After the end of World War I, Kendidenoglu's son was shot in the courtyard of the house because of suspicions of espionage...

In 1933, Eleni Kendidoglu sold the house to rich to***co merchant Nishan Kalfanyan. A year later, in 1934, the house underwent a major renovation, an external outbuilding - a laundry room, and an upgrading. For many years, the Kalfanyan family lived in the house until the end of the Second World War ...

After the Communist rule came to Bulgaria in 1944, the house was forcibly taken away by the owners and for the benefit of the state. During the years of Communist rule, the house was used for the filming of feature films as well as for the representative needs of the ruling party.
