It’s Plovdiv where Romans, Greeks and Thracians mingled centuries ago, leaving behind the melting pot of cultural influences that the city is today. In its more recent history the city became a mixture of unique architectural styles. In a walking distance from the hostel is the Old Town of Plovdiv, built in the 17th century and an important historical heritage in its own right. It is now considered an architectural reserve because of the numerous typical buildings which house cultural venues such as museums, galleries and artistic societies. It is in the Old Town where the Roman Theatre lies, dating from the 2nd century. Nowadays it is still a functioning theater, a home for many modern and classic plays, concerts and other events.

Another more recent gem on the map of Plovdiv is Kapana - a pedestrian district where many small galleries, artisanal shops, bars and restaurants have opened in recent years. On your way there you’ll see the Roman Stadium and Dzhumaya Mosque - other beautiful sights that Plovdiv has to offer.

On the opposite end of the Main Street is located Tsar Simeon’s Garden - a green paradise inside the busy city with many fountains, children’s playgrounds and benches tucked under the shades of old trees. Overlooking the garden is Club Fargo’s spacious terrace (1 Gladstone str) - where the best cocktails with homemade ingredients are served and various DJs are playing on weekends.
