Barrinha de Baixo
Chalé Maturi is located in the village Barrinha de Baixo, about 18 kms from the village of Jeriocoacoara and 8 km from Preá. The population of the village is still predominantly local, and nativfkora and fauna is still preserved.
Barrinha de Baixo is a fishing community, which, besides tourism, is the main economic activity of the village. There are more than 300 canoes on the beach that supply fish to the whole region.
Artisanal fishing is a sustainable practice as long as the reproduction period of the different species of sea fish are respected.
In addition to sea fishing, the community also enjoys freshwater fishing from the many lagoons in the region.
Those who are curious to learn more about artisanal fishing can have the opportunity to experience it.
