From the early 20th century
“Buenos Aires’s history in the whereabouts of the so-called Plaza Mayor, today ocupied Plaza de Mayo and other public administration offices.
To the east, the Casa Rosada (Pink House), where the Presential offices are now located, used to be a fortress in colonial times. To the north, visitors will find the Metropolitan Cathedral, and to the west, the Cabildo, the mkst important institutional colonial building of those days.
Underneath, a line A subway station is preserved as it was at the beginning of the 20th century with its wagons. The station was inaugurated in 1913 and was the first in Latin America.”
