Just freed this June 2020, after a two years engagement with a tenant. Readying it for guests,from on. Our house is located in a wooded mountain range region in Rio, 10 min from the city. This is not exactly an urban lodging proposal. It is a place for relaxation and communion with nature. But, the throbbing and exciting big city is down there, available all the time, with all of Rio's attractions
, excitement and enjoyment. Accommodation:
The room is spacious, approx 430 sq ft(40 sqm), with a 260sq ft(18sqm)mezzanine. There is a queen size bed together with two sofas (one of which is a sofa bed) and a modern, confortable, upholstered Mies van der Rohe chair. The room is suitable for a couple but can accommodate additional guests by using the mezzanine. There are a further 2 single beds and a double bed on the mezzanine. Breakfast may be taken in the room, our living room, or on the veranda, weather permitting. The bathroom is a good size. There is also a walk in closet for your clothes and belongings. In the room there is a cabinet with a basin and big mirror. Very practical if the bathroom is occupied. There is a 50" flatscreen TV, connected to a cable TV set (Sky), and wifi connection. Guests have access to all external areas and to our living room. Remember, this is a family home too. The swimming pool is at treetop level, with a magnificent view towards the mountains and the sea. We hope to provide a professional lodging experience. But, as a home lodging, it permits a warm interaction with Jorge and Iliene, always intent on providing a cozy and pleasant stay. Location:
The house is located on a road that runs through the "Mata Atlantica", or Atlantic Forest, at an altitude of 624 ft(190m). It is a calm and peaceful place, with few neighbours. The forest is host to a great variety of birds, including toucans; there are also marmosets, capuchin monkeys, and many other tropical dwellers. As soon as you go downhill, beach is a short walk away. Hangliders and paragliders land all the time on the sand, with tourists aboard. Transportation:
We are 1.5 miles away from Gavea Road, the principal thoroughfare connecting two main areas of the city: Barra da Tijuca and Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana. There are 2 buses which pass by every hour(from (6:00AM to 10:00PM); taxis may be booked by phone; or better yet, by smartphone apps, such as Taxibeat. For your your mobility, we might recommend renting a car, but noting that Rio's traffic and parking availability may be a disheartening experience. Jorge, when available, will take guests down the hill, with pleasure. Rules:
