The community:
-Ladeira dos Tabajaras is a completely pacified favela, with UPP (Police Pacification Unit), home to approximately 20,000 Cariocas.
-It sits behind Copacabana and has views out to Copacabana beach, Lagoa, Cristo Redentor and Botafogo.
-Locals are friendly and accustomed to the presence of tourists and you'll make lots of friends.
-There are places to eat snacks, pizza, fast food, and even sushi.
-For those tired after walking around all day there is a moto-taxi or van service which takes you to anywhere in the favela for about 1USD. -
-The metro station Siqueira Campos is right at the entrance to Ladeira dos Tabajaras, thus you have access to the centre, bus station, and football stadium
