Brazilian FIFA World Cup Visa Requirements for US Citizens:
Brazil is hosting the 2014 FIFA World Cup!
The Government of Brazil will issue a special type of visa for spectators and participants in the FIFA World Cup. Brazilian World Cup visas will be issued for the duration of the event. If a long term, multiple entry visa is desired, World Cup spectators may choose to apply for a Brazilian Tourist Visa instead (Consular Fees will apply in this case).
1. Passport Requirements:
Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Brazil, and with at least two adjacent blank visa pages available for Brazilian visa stamp. Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for visa stamps.
2. Brazilian Visa Application Form:
One signed Brazil visa application form receipt plus one copy.
Only on-line Brazilian visa applications are accepted.
Note: Improperly completed Brazil visa application forms may delay the processing of your visa. To fill in the on-line form select "Visa Request" and follow the steps. Every question must be answered. The signature must be inside the signature box on the receipt page. The form will expire within 30 days.
Residents of Connecticut, Rhode Island: The signature on application receipt must be notarized.
3. Photo Requirements:
One recent 2" x 2" passport-type photo, in color, front view, full face, with a light background (snapshots are not accepted).
OR - you can upload a passport photo to the Global Service Order Form when you place your order, instead of providing physical passport photos.
4. Other Forms:
A copy of driver's license (This is proof of residential address, please enlarge the copy for clarity).
Applicants living in Connecticut, Rhode Island: The driver’s license copy must be notarized. A signed and notarized CT Letter of Authorization is required.
Boston: Signed Boston Letter of Authorization.
Houston: The driver’s license copy must be notarized.
5. Proof Of Departure:
Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or travel agency or copy of airline or cruise tickets.
6. Minors:
Minors (under 18) must submit notarized copy of the birth certificate and Letter of Consent signed by each parent listed on the birth certificate (or legal guardian). A copy must also be carried with the passport.
Atlanta: Letter of Consent Form with photo attached. Application and consent forms must be signed by both parents, notarized and certified by County Clerk. For children 3 months to 6 years old, a certificate of vaccination against polio.
Boston: Letter of Consent Form
Chicago: Letter of Consent Form
Houston: Certified birth certificate, two Letter of Consent Forms with two photos attached, and two application forms, each signed by both parents and notarized. For children 3 months to 6 years old, a certificate of vaccination against polio
Los Angeles: Letter of Consent Form and certified birth certificate
Miami: Letter of Consent Form and certified birth certificate
New York: Letter of Consent Form with additional photo and Letter of Authorization Form
NY Connecticut: Letter of Authorization Form
San Francisco: Letter of Consent Form
Washington: Letter of Consent Form
7. Medical Requirements:
Yellow fever vaccination certificate if applicant has traveled within the last 90 days to an endemic area.
8. Special Instructions:
Supporting documents are required to demonstrate the nature of participation in the Brazilian FIFA World Cup 2014.
Spectators: Ticket valid for any of the games of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2014 - or copy of email confirmation or ticket certificate. If someone other than the applicant purchased the ticket, a copy of email confirmation, copy of ticket to Brazil, and print out from FIFA ticketing website listing guest names.
Houston and Miami: Original ticket/certificate issued by FIFA is required.
The Brazilian FIFA World Cup 2014 visa may also be issued for a legal dependent accompanying the World Cup ticket holder as long as proof of relationship is provided. (Foreigners who already hold a valid Brazilian tourist visa may use it to participate in the World Cup event as a spectator. There is no need to apply for the special FIFA World Cup visa if the traveler holds a valid tourist visa for Brazil).
Accredited personnel and volunteers: Invitation letter issued by FIFA or by the Organizing Committee of the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014.
Press: Proof of accreditation by the press committee of FIFA.
Foreign Correspondent: A letter from the media company for whom the applicant works which must explicitly contain:
- Details about the media company;
- Information on the activities to be performed;
- The address and location of the office the individual will be linked to in Brazil and
- The letter of accreditation with FIFA's press committee.
Entertainment Professionals / Work Permit: This visa is suitable for artists, athletes, stage producers and other entertainment professionals. This type of visa requires authorization from Brazil's Ministry of Labor and Employment ("Ministério do Trabalho e Emprego" - MTE). The authorized period of stay will be determined by the MTE.
Professionals with Work Permit: This visa is for professionals with an employment contract in Brazil. This type of visa requires authorization from Brazil's Ministry of Labor and Employment ("Ministério do Trabalho e Emprego" - MTE). The authorized period of stay will be determined by the MTE.
9. Global Service Order Form:
This is Travisa's service order form, where you will provide your contact and shipping information, choose the visa processing needed and make your payment. You must print the completed form and send it to Travisa with all other supporting documents.
Brazil Consular Fees and Visa Processing Options
Brazil Visa Validity:
Brazil FIFA World Cup 2014 visas may be issued for a single entry for the duration of the World Cup in Brazil.
Brazilian Visa Processing Time:
The processing time for Brazilian Visas can vary greatly depending on jurisdiction. Please be sure to check where you will submit your application (jurisdictions are listed below) and view the Brazil Consular Fees and Visa Processing Options.
Important notice: Several Brazilian Consulates are currently experiencing delays in visa processing, in part due to high volume of applications for attendees of the FIFA World Cup this summer. In some cases, an appointment is required (Travisa can set the appointment) in order for processing to begin. Consulates may prioritize applications based on departure date, and therefore processing time may be unpredictable. Non-refundable tickets or reservations should not be purchased until all visas and passports are secured and in your possession.
