Siren’s Nest; We were 40ft underwater in a broken artificial airplane wreck called the Vulcan Bomber used in the 1965 James Bond movie, “Thunderball”. We first attempted this photo with Camila Jaber wearing freediving fins, however they were too long for the position she needed to execute. We did 4 dives with the fins from different angles to see if it would work before we decided to eliminate them from the concept. Camila is the Mexican national freediving champion in the CNF (constant weight without fins) discipline with a record depth of 58m/190ft, so I knew that this dive was well within her limits. Camila dove down to the wreck to get into position. My fins allowed me to swim faster so I was able to dive shortly after she left the surface to reach the bottom at the same time. I wedged myself into a corner of the wreck to put enough distance between Camila and myself. Camila, with no additional weight added, walked on the sandy bottom with her head angled upward to get the reflection of the surface on her mask. She was in constant slow motion allowing her hair to flow behind her. Meanwhile, I shot different angles to see what looked best and to increase the chances of capturing her at the exact moment that her mask lens was lit up. Prints available at www.andremusgrove.com

Please note that due to the approaching storm, the Treasure Cay Fuel Station will close at 1pm on Tuesday (Nov 8 ) and remain closed until Thursday (Nov 10 ) when the all clear is anticipated and we will resume normal operating hours.

Please note that the Treasure Cay Fuel Station will be closed on Monday, September 19 as we join the country in marking the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
