Tribute to Brother Joshua Sears

Upon the passing of this distinguished member of the Craft, we extend fraternal tribute to his wife Michell, his daughter, and his grandchildren.

His passing is a vivid reminder that we all must one day travel this same journey. As he did, we are challenged to live up to the lofty ideals of the Craft and to contribute toward making our society and the world a better place.

All of us have fond memories of our departed Brother. I recall time spent with him attending an installation in Eleuthera—and my failed attempt at kneading bread. His simple advice was, “Focus on numbers, and just eat the bread.”

Bro. Josh was a committed family man, public servant, and true nationalist.

We shall miss his quiet demeanor, unwavering commitment, and dedication to duty, from which we all learned so much.

We close this tribute with a reflection from an unknown author, which we hope will serve as a source of comfort and encouragement to his widow and children:

“Those we love must someday pass beyond our present sight,
must leave us and the world we know without their radiant light.
But we know that like a candle, their lovely life will shine
to brighten up another place, more perfect, more divine.”

May our Brother’s soul find rest and eternal peace, as he has now completed the building of the Temple.
