In the aftermath of Dorian, our beloved settlement of Sweetings Cay has suffered much devastation. Grand Bahama and Abaco islands have suffered the most tragic loss of all...many human lives đ. For this, we have no words to describe the heaviness in our hearts or the grief we feel as we mourn with our community. We are not aware of any lives lost in Sweetingâs Cay, and we are hopeful that all are safe.
Sadly, our cottages did not survive this storm. As we are still learning the details in the aftermath of Dorian, we ask that you keep Grand Bahama and Abaco residents in your thoughts and prayers.
We will provide more information in the near future, but for now, we are sending much love to all that have reached out and offered to help us and the residents of our âSweet Cayâ, and our family personally. We feel the love and we are encouraged by your outpouring of support. Understand that as soon as we can, we will answer your messages and provide more updates. We love hearing from you and we know that this special place is just as personal and sentimental to many of you as it is to our family. Many of you have allowed our cottages to become an integral part of family traditions and we were honored to share our homes with you as you bonded and connected with loved ones while disconnecting from the craziness of everyday life. You have bonded with our neighbors, built friendships and become a part of the community over the years â¤.
As you reflect on the many great memories made in Sweetingâs Cay, rest assured...WE WILL REBUILD.
With Love,
The Bellot Family
