Operating since 1972, Island Safari Lodge is set on a 300 acre private island reserve and just 10km

Island Safari Lodge is set on a 300 acre private island reserve, and just 10km from Maun Airport. It is situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River under a wonderful canopy of Okavango trees and overlooking a floodplain of fields and waters. It is a perfect place to kick up your feet and relax alongside flowing waters, or beside one of our swimming pools, using our free Wi-Fi services and ordering refreshments from our restaurant while watching the world go by. If however relaxing is not what you want to do, there is so much we can offer you, not only on our property itself, but in the nearby vicinity as well.

Wildebeest are highly social animals that often gather in large herds for protection.

They have an excellent sense of hearing and smell, helping them detect danger, and they play an important role in the ecosystem by grazing on grasses and helping shape the landscape.

The lechwe is perfectly adapted to life in the wetlands of Botswana.

Often found around the floodplains and shallow waters of the Okavango Delta, these graceful antelope use their long, splayed hooves to move confidently through soft, wet ground.
