Some mornings are all speed... African wild dogs on the hunt, dust rising behind them.
Other times it's about identifying bird calls, learning about medicinal plants, or outlining the soft print of a cheetah in sand.

May in northern Botswana marks the beginning of a quiet seasonal shift.

The summer rains have passed (mostly! We have had a lot this year) and the atmosphere starts drying out. The nights and mornings get cooler, often dropping to around 15°C, while the days remain warm, clear, and beautifully crisp 🌞

As seasonal pans begin to dry, buffalo gather in larger herds around permanent water sources. Elephant breeding herds increase in density, moving steadily between the floodplains and the channels. The lush greens of summer begin to soften, and with the bush thinning, predators once again blend seamlessly into the landscape.

"We had an incredible stay at Mma Dinare Camp — a beautifully run safari camp that strikes the perfect balance between authentic wilderness and thoughtful comfort. The staff are extremely attentive, helping you to unwind between drives.

What really stood out was how seamlessly everything is run. The entire operation feels incredibly well organised yet still personal and intimate, with warm, attentive service from a team that genuinely cares about your experience.

The safari guiding was exceptional, and a special mention must go to our guide, Skills, whose knowledge, instinct, and passion made every game drive unforgettable. His ability to track and interpret the bush elevated the whole experience and led to some truly remarkable sightings. We had great sightings of Giraffe, Elephant, Zebras and, despite the challenges caused by floods on the back of an extremely wet season, we also saw lions brothers and a mother cheetah with her cubs.

A truly special place that delivers both in terms of experience and hospitality — we would highly recommend it."
