To our beloved Kwetsani,

For over 26 years, you have stood quietly on stilts above the floodplains, your thatch and timber walls holding stories whispered through mangosteen leaves and woven into the morning mist. You were never just a camp. You were a home among the palms. A sanctuary of warmth and wonder where laughter echoed across your walkways and lion roars rumbled just beyond the light.

You taught us the rhythm of the Delta. How the seasons rise and fall. How to listen to elephants feeding in the night. How to watch the water arrive with reverence, and to say goodbye to it with grace.

Guests became family beneath your canopy. Some left with their hearts fuller. Some left changed forever. But all left knowing they'd been held by something rare.

And now, as your walls come down, we do not mourn. We honour you. We thank you. We carry forward the spirit you so generously gave.

Next year, you will rise again. Reborn. Rooted in the same soil, breathing the same wild air, shaped by the same soul. Still Kwetsani. Always Kwetsani.
