The Classic Mana Pools Safari 🐘

A place where elephants rise onto their hind legs to reach the highest branches, lions disappear into golden grass and the Zambezi brings life to everything along its banks.

Experience two very different sides of Mana Pools with four nights at Mana River Camp, on the banks of the Zambezi, followed by four nights at Ingwe Pan, tucked deeper into the wilderness.

Days unfold through game drives and walking safaris, following wildlife between river, woodland and inland pans.

Eight nights. Two camps. One remarkable wilderness.

A brave buffalo stands its ground against two male lions.

A stand-off caught at 3 am in the morning, the camera at Deteema Springs is always streaming. We have teamed up with Africam for our first 24-hour livestream deep in northern Hwange National Park.

Protecting the Okavango, one patrol at a time.

NG32 forms part of one of the world’s most important wilderness systems, where protecting wildlife requires a consistent presence on the ground.
Through targeted anti-poaching initiatives, Machaba plays an active, hands-on role in supporting the protection of wildlife across this important area of the Okavango Delta.

It is long-term work, built on committed people, local knowledge and action that continues well beyond a single patrol.

Because meaningful conservation is not a once-off effort. It requires consistency, collaboration and local empowerment.

At Verney’s, dinner often comes with a little something extra – the sights and sounds of Hwange unfolding around you.

Set beside a busy waterhole, there is always the possibility of something wandering into view while you dine.

Because here, the wilderness is never simply a backdrop. It is part of the experience.

Our journey began with friendship, family and a shared love of the bush.

Today, that spirit continues at Ngoma Safari Lodge with the introduction of our two new Family Suites.

Set high above the Chobe floodplain, each suite accommodates up to four guests, with expansive views, a private plunge pool and space to slow down and experience this remarkable wilderness together.

Because some of the best safari memories are the ones shared with family.

There is no single way to experience Zimbabwe.

From the wide-open landscapes of Hwange to the wild banks of the Zambezi, each of our four camps offers a different window into one of Africa’s great wildernesses.

Natural springs draw wildlife through the dry season. Inland pans reveal a quieter side of Mana Pools. Along the Zambezi, life follows the rhythm of the river. And as the seasons shift, so too does the landscape – changing the way you experience it each time you return.

Four camps. Two remarkable wilderness areas. Each with a character entirely its own.

The bush speaks in a language most of us cannot read.

A leaf bent at an odd angle. Bark scraped just above knee height. A patch of grass flattened hours ago, already springing back. It is nothing to the untrained eye, but to our guides, it is telling a story.

Walking safaris slow everything down. With no engine, no distance to cover, just you, the guide ahead, and a wilderness leaving clues along the way.

Here in Northern Hwange at Deteema Springs, elephants are drawn to these natural springs not only for the precious water they provide, but also for the mineral-rich deposits found around the springs.

A timeless ritual in one of Hwange’s wildest corners — water, minerals and generations of elephants returning to the same natural source.
