The adventure starts with the journey up to Chobe.
The roadworks start after Francistown.
The police are enforcing the yellow speed limits of 60, be cautious around Francistown and Pandamatenga.
The road is particularly slow going around Nata and Pandamatenga.
Allow extra time and pack your sense of humour.

*Update: Re-opened today Thursday, 09 April 2026

Notice: the Shell filling station in Muchenje Village (Chobe West) is currently closed today (Wed, 01 April 2026) due to a lightning strike to the pump electrical system last night. All travellers coming from either Kasane or Maun please ensure you have enough fuel to get to your destination without relying on this fuel station. The owners of the filling station are currently working on fixing the problem but it might take a day or 2 before normal business resumes.
I will update daily and let everyone know as soon as the filling station is up and running again.
