Most fisherman when fishing permit will get nervous at the sight of a tail and when i say nervous ,they can't get off a shot . There is no need to hurry . Just concentrate on two things. First, keep your eyes on the fish . Second, make sure you'er pacing your false cast in a timely manner, ensuring you load the rod.

Permit swim erratically, changing direction every 10 to 15 feet. It's best to lead them no more than one to three feet.
