Imagine a man who so loved his house that he brought it all the way from the mainland, across 35 miles of sea, risking complete disintegration of the structure, and, finally, planting it in a beautiful spot on the Isla Bonita, 4 ½ north of San Pedro, where it was eventually renovated by an American architect from whom the current owners bought it, amidst stories and legends that had

arisen around the house over its long life. This is a totally renovated, 3-bedroom, 3-bath house with a spacious living/dining room, and a modern kitchen. It has over a thousand square feet of deck which faces the reef just beyond the front gate. The sea breeze makes it a great place to hang out and enjoy the sun and the sea; and the reef beckons one to kayak and snorkel and fish. The private pier has been rebuilt and a modest swimming feature has been added. Fishing trips, tours to amazing snorkeling and diving sites as well as adventures to the mainland to visit Mayan ruins, can be taken right from the front door of the iguana house. Or you can take out a kayak and have your own adventure on the reef. This is a neighborhood house and, although you are about four and a half miles from San Pedro, you’ll find friendly neighbors, great restaurants and a convenient grocery store within walking distance. If you need to go to town, there is a regular coastal ferry service which makes the run to and from town. Golf carts can be rented by the day or the week and, although the roads can be rough, are often the most convenient option. The most cost effective option will be determined by how many people are traveling together. It’s private at the iguana house, but not remote. Some of the rates you might anticipate are as follows:

Weekly rate for golf cart: $350.00us

Coastal express: $7.00us, one way, per person, to or from San Pedro

Private water taxi: $40us (up to six persons), one way to or from San Pedro

I love this house! Stayed for 5 day's.
Waterfront is incredible morning, sun set you can not believe.
The house is clean and the owner is the best! Gives you lots of information and pick's you up at the airport so you are not lost when you arrive. Even took us to get some groceries. The best!
