Oh Shuga! is a must-stop every time our family visits Placencia. Located right in Placencia Village next to Wendy's Creole Food, this colorful shop is packed with fun gifts, sweet treats, and nostalgic candy.

Our favorite part? The giant glass candy jars! Grab a bag and mix + match your favorites.

Such a fun little stop for kids AND adults while exploring the Placencia Village.

Today we celebrate all the incredible moms, grandmothers, aunties, bonus moms, and mother figures who love deeply, give endlessly, and somehow manage to do it all.

A very special shoutout to two amazing women who help make Ophelia’s Villa so special:

✨ Ida — our incredible housekeeping manager, private cook, guest favorite, and heart of hospitality at the villa.

✨ Heather — co-owner of Ophelia’s Villa, hospitality visionary, adventure planner, and multitasking mama behind so much of the guest experience.

Both of these women wear many hats professionally and personally, and their care, dedication, and hard work never go unnoticed.

We appreciate you both so much and are grateful for the warmth and love you bring to everyone around you.

Did you know? 🐋
Manatees have a prime feeding ground right here in the lagoon directly in front of the villa. It’s not uncommon to spot them gently gliding through the water while you sip your morning coffee or unwind at sunset.

It’s these quiet, unexpected moments that make this place so special... nature, calm, and connection all in one view. Come experience it for yourself

One of the things we love most about Ophelia’s Villa is watching the property grow and evolve over time. Every plant, every palm, every little detail has been intentionally added to create a space that feels tropical, private, and alive. Hibiscus, mangoes, bananas, lobster claw, and more.

Swipe to the last photo—that stunning traveler palm behind Kevin? 🌴 We planted it nearly 6 years ago when it was just about 3 feet tall… and now look at it. It’s a reminder that the magic of this place isn’t just the views, it’s the care, time, and love poured into every corner.
