A little jungle, a few river crossings across Roaring Creek River, a swim through crystal-clear water and a scramble over ancient limestone rocks... then you enter another world.
The journey begins with a 25-minute hike through the rainforest as Hector brings the jungle to life, pointing out medicinal plants, termite nests and hidden traces of the ancient Maya. The warm, humid air is alive with birdsong before you reach the cool, jade-green river winding through the limestone landscape.
Inside the cave, daylight quickly disappears. The only illumination comes from the glow of your headlamp dancing across towering chambers draped with spectacular stalactites.
The sound of flowing water echoes through the darkness.
