It's Garifuna Settlement Day in Belize!
Every year on November 19th, Belize comes alive with the rhythmic beat of the drums and colorful celebrations to commemorate the arrival of the Garinagu people to the shores of Belize in 1802. From the historic Yurumein (reenactment of the landing by dugout canoe) at dawn to all-night drumming and dancing, it's a profound cultural experience.
