Mata Rocks Resort is owned by a mother and daughter from New York and Connecticut. Gerri is the founder and managing partner of a Law Firm in NY and Taylor is an NYU grad who jumped head first into the hotel and tourism industry. They moved to San Pedro in May of 2021 and took over the existing Mata Rocks Resort. In a few short months they have transformed Mat

a Rocks Resort into a boutique hotel and travel destination. It is a passion project for the two and they hope you enjoy it as much as they do. The resort features 17 rooms all with ocean views, a pool, a bar a restaurant and our all new Pickleball courts -the first and only ones in San Pedro — and so much more! Here you’ll be able to relax, enjoy the beautiful beach, partake in multiple activities and tours, and explore all that San Pedro and Belize have to offer.

Our Story

Owners: Terry Anderson & Liz Cechini We fell in love with this island the first time we came, so nothing makes us happier than to see the same thing happen to our guests when they visit Mata Rocks. We’ve owned the resort since 1995 and it’s still one of our favorite things to welcome people with different backgrounds and interests from all over the world. Many come back each year, some now with their children or friends they want to share the island with. This is the best reward of all.
