A Bittersweet Goodbye ❤️ and a warm welcome

Today marks a very bittersweet day for our family as we officially pass the keys to the White Rock Motel new owners.

For over 30 years, our family has had the privilege of owning and operating the motel. We have met so many wonderful people along the way.Customers who became familiar faces, friends, and in so many cases, part of our extended family.

We want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to every single employee, customer, company, business, and members of our community who supported us throughout the years. Your continued support, conversations, laughs, and friendships have meant more to us than we can ever put into words.

We are especially happy that the motel is going into the hands of a wonderful young family, the Lecuyer’s who already have strong ties to our wonderful community. They have exciting plans and a fresh vision for the future, and we truly hope you will welcome them and continue to support the motel as you have supported us for so many years.

As with any new beginning, we kindly ask everyone to please be patient and understanding with them as they learn the business and settle into their new roles. There is a lot to learn, and we know they will put their hearts into making the motel their own.

We wish them much happiness, success, and many wonderful memories as they begin this new chapter. We couldn’t ask for better people to carry the motel forward, and we hope the community will embrace them and their growing family.

Leaving something that has been such a big part of our lives for so many years is certainly emotional. We will miss it and most of all, we will miss the all of you.

Have you ever wondered how many stories a little motel can hold? We can write a book!

The families who came for a weekend getaway, the workers who stayed while working away from home, the couples passing through, getting married,the friends making memories, and the guests who came back year after year.

For over 30 years, we’ve had the privilege of being a small part of so many journeys.

And sometimes, when you stop and think about it, it’s not really about the rooms at all, it’s about all the people, the memories, and all the little moments that happened along the way.

Hard to believe that little office helper is now 27! Time really does fly. 😊

Another year of the Maxville Highland Games has come and gone, and once again we’re reminded that we truly have the best guests anyone could ask for.

So many of you have been staying with us since we first bought the White Rock Motel over 30 years ago. You’ve watched our kids grow up, shared stories and laughs with us over the years, and became so much more than guests you’ve become friends.

Seeing familiar faces each Highland Games weekend is one of the highlights of our year. Thank you for your loyalty, your kindness, and for making the White Rock Motel such a special place for our family for all these years.

The wait is finally over… and our first Highland Games Guests have arrived!

It’s almost time for the sound of the pipes, the thrill of the heavy events, incredible entertainment, delicious food, and a weekend full of Scottish pride and community spirit.

Whether you’re a longtime Games fan or visiting for the first time, this is the perfect weekend to experience one of the area’s most attended and celebrated traditions.

What a fantastic turnout for Meet Me on Main!

It was wonderful to see Main Street buzzing with people enjoying a beautiful summer evening. Several of our guests stopped by and told us what a great time they had exploring the event.

Main Street in Alexandria will be closed on July 23 @ 2-10pm for Meet Me on Main. A fun evening bringing our community together with music, local vendors, and great summer vibes!

A Little Trip Down Memory Lane…

While going through some old keepsakes, we came across one of the original White Rock Motel business cards.

One detail that made us smile was “self-dialed telephones.” 😂Believe it or not, that was a big selling feature! We purchased the motel just as the old octopus switchboard was being phased out, so our guests could dial their own calls directly from their rooms a modern convenience at the time!

A lot has changed over the years, but one thing has remained the same: our commitment to warm, friendly hospitality.
