A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT AND A LIKE AND SHARE CONTEST!

We are very excited to announce a new tribute show for 2026! "Sirens of Song: Legendary Female Voices from the Maritimes" opens at the Travelodge Amherst and Wandlyn Conference Centre in Amherst on Sunday, June 14 at 2 p.m.

This new show is a musical tribute celebrating over a dozen extraordinary female singers and/or songwriters from Canada’s Maritime provinces. An all female five piece band, including New Brunswick’s Queen of the Blues, Theresa Malenfant, will perform over twenty songs made famous by women from Canada’s East Coast, including Sarah McLachlan, Carroll Baker, Anne Murray, Shirley Eikhard, Rita MacNeil, Holly Cole, Patsy Gallant, and Theresa herself. Joining Theresa on stage will be Jennie Del Motte, Mirren Lithwick, Heather MacIntyre, and Carley Varner-Joudrey, who have all appeared in our other tribute shows.

Best-selling author, Charlie Rhindress, will host the evening, sharing stories about these legendary east coast women and reading from his book, "Nova Scotia’s Stars of Song," which profiles many of the featured artists. Rhindress has worked with a number of the women showcased and will share stories from his time spent with them.

"Sirens of Song" includes songs like “Working Man,” “Angel,” “Something to Talk About,” “One Drink is One Too Many,” and “You Needed Me,” and covers musical genres from country and rock to folk, opera and Celtic.

This show has been developed with the support of Festival by the Marsh and will be presented by them in Sackville on Saturday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m.

We plan to tour this new show, along with our Anne Murray and Rita MacNeil tributes throughout the Maritimes this summer.

🎄💚 Waffles with the Grinch = Big Hearts in Amherst! 💚🎄

What an incredible morning at Travelodge Amherst! The Grinch, Trinity, and a whole gaggle of very excited children—along with parents and grandparents—joined us for a Waffle Brunch with the Grinch, and what a success it was!

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised funds and collected a trunk full of food donations and diapers for the Amherst Food Assistance Network. We were honoured to welcome Marilyn Munroe from the Network, who stopped by to accept the donations and help judge our Colourful Christmas colouring contest 🎨✨

Thank you to everyone who came out, donated, laughed, coloured, and helped turn a fun holiday event into something truly meaningful. This is what community spirit looks like ❤️🎅🧇
