Camp Tidnish Camp Tidnish is the only barrier-free and fully accessible summer camp for Nova Scotians living with disabilities.

In partnership with the Rotary Club of Amherst, Easter Seals Nova Scotia hosts and operates Camp Tidnish near Amherst, Nova Scotia. Camp Tidnish is a barrier-free and fully accessible summer camp for children, youth, and adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.

Here’s what happens when your child finds belonging, independence, and joy at camp!

''Camp Tidnish 2023 was Rayan’s first-ever residential experience—and his first time away from home. As a parent, it was incredibly meaningful to see how he responded to a new environment and unfamiliar people for an extended period of time.
The camp provided a warm, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere where Rayan felt safe, engaged, and valued. He especially enjoyed the outdoor activities and group engagement. We observed real growth in his independence and adaptability.
This experience marked a clear milestone in Rayan’s journey—building on the progress made through continued therapies, inclusive schooling, community involvement, and various recreational programs.

That’s a wrap on an amazing summer at Camp Tidnish! Our final session, Navigators 2, brought together youth ages 17–24 for a week of fun, connection, and new experiences.

Camp Tidnish is a loving and comfortable environment where campers can build confidence, learn new skills, and be themselves.

Another wonderful Camp Tidnish session in the books!

Our Voyageurs 2 campers, ages 25–39, filled the week with fun, friendship, and great memories. We’ve had such a great summer so far, and with just one more session to go, we’re not ready for summer to end yet!

This was Austin’s first time at Camp Tidnish. He is a regular Learn to Sledge participant and was always curious about going to Camp. Austin thoroughly enjoyed his time at Camp doing the things he loves, like fishing, boating and anything outdoors. Needless to say, he will be back!
