URGENT RESCUE APPEAL ā SAMOYED FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED | ONTARIO
Meet Oslo, a nearly 4-year-old Samoyed boy who urgently needs a new place to call home. š¤
The Samoyed Association of Canada (SAC) Rescue is assisting Osloās family in Port Perry, Ontario, as his owner faces a significant change in living arrangements and can no longer keep him. With November 1 approaching, time is running short to find Oslo a safe, loving home.
We urgently need a foster home at the very least, while we continue searching for the right permanent family. A forever home would, of course, be wonderful!
š¾ A little about Oslo
Oslo is a happy, affectionate, energetic boy with a big personality and plenty of love to give. He is very much his ownerās best buddy and remains his usual loving self.
Oslo has epilepsy and requires ongoing medication. He recently experienced a breakthrough seizure on October 11 but recovered well and returned to his normal, happy self.
His medical needs are an important consideration, but they do not define who he is. Oslo deserves the chance to be loved, cared for and safe, regardless of his diagnosis.
š This is a heartbreaking decision for his owner. Oslo is deeply loved, and this rehoming is not because of his epilepsy or medical needs. It is the result of changing living circumstances that will no longer allow his owner to provide the home Oslo deserves. His owner is willing to discuss contributing toward his care if that helps make a suitable placement possible.
š” Can you help Oslo?
We have already contacted everyone who submitted an adoption application from Ontario and Quebec over the past three months, but unfortunately, no suitable placement has come forward.
We are asking our Samoyed community to please share this appeal. You may not be able to foster or adopt yourself, but someone in your network might be the person Oslo needs.
We are looking for:
š¤ A temporary foster home to give Oslo stability while we find his permanent family.
š¤ A committed, loving permanent home prepared to manage his epilepsy and ongoing medication.
š¤ Experienced, compassionate people willing to learn more about his needs and discuss his care with his owner.
If you think you could help, or know someone who might be able to open their home to Oslo, please reach out for more information. We can connect you directly with his owner to discuss his temperament, daily routine, medical history and care requirements.
Please share. Every share gives Oslo another chance of finding the home he needs.
Oslo is loved. He is not being given up because he is sick. He needs a new home because life has changed for his family. Letās help him through this difficult transition. š¤
