A reminder that yesterday was the opening of Cormorant hunting season and it runs until December 31st. If you hear gunshots in this coming week, don’t be alarmed.

The Ontario government established the hunting season in 2020, citing concerns from property owners and anglers about negative impacts from cormorant populations on local ecosystems and fish stocks. Licensed hunters use shotguns not rifles and use non toxic ammunition, they are also required to retrieve the dispatched birds.

It’s not often we get to take in the beautiful sunsets at our Lumber Bay cottage. Last night myself and my two favorite people were able to sit out while roasting marshmallows and watch the sunset behind the changing trees. Nothing short of spectacular 🌅 🍁

As our rental season with a few of our cottages draws to a close and kiddos head back to school, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful guests who have stayed with us throughout the summer and in past summers. We hope that your time with us was everything you had hoped for and that you were able to relax and enjoy some well-deserved lake time!!! We look forward to hosting you again!
