06/28/2021

On Wednesday, June 30th, 2021 we will be entering Stage 2 at 12:01am, the province is further lifting restrictions around gathering limits, retail restrictions and even sports venues restrictions.

The updated restrictions include but are not limited to:

Outdoor social gatherings and organized public events with up to 25 people.

Outdoor pools, splash pads, spray pads, whirlpools, wading pools and water slides open with capacity limited to permit 2m physical distancing.

Indoor gatherings up to 5 people are permitted. This now allows for guests to visit campers in campgrounds.

If you and your guests are experiencing any symptoms of illness or have any recent contact with a potential or confirmed case of COVID-19, do not visit River Place Campground and follow provincial guidelines for self-isolation/quarantine as appropriate.

Please visit https://www.ontario.ca/page/reopening-ontario for more clarification.

More Updates: We are gearing for the pool to open in the near future (upon health department approval). To keep everyone safe and the pool operating, please remember to follow the restrictions put in place. Pool privileges may be revoked for those who cannot follow proper covid-19 protocols.

Thank you for understanding and following all protocols to keep everyone safe.

Best Regards,
River Place Campground

We have been contacted by the Health Department emphasizing to us the importance that we need to follow all protocols to keep everyone safe and to do our due diligence in making sure the restrictions are followed.

As stated in a previous email, we ask that you comply with the following restrictions

Per provincial guidelines, your unit will be made available for access for use by yourself and members of your direct household only. If you are entering the campground, we expect that your travel would be from your primary residence directly to your unit with no trips to local towns.

No visitors are allowed at River Place during the Stay-at-Home Order.

Campfires are permitted with your household at your own site. People outside of your direct household are not permitted to join at your campfire at this time.
For your personal safety and that of our staff, we ask that you do not engage with employees if you see them working on the property. We are asking our employees to stay at least 2 metres away from other individuals.
Masks should always be worn as instructed by public health.
If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness or have any recent contact with a potential or confirmed case of COVID-19, do not visit River Place and follow provincial guidelines for self-isolation/quarantine as appropriate.
No golf carts are to be used on the property.
All public areas are closed at this time including the washrooms and playground.

Update to the Stay-at-Home Order

Today, May 13, 2021, the Ontario Government announced the extension of the Stay-at-Home Order. The Stay-at-Home order was set to expire by May 20th and with the new extension orders, the province of Ontario is set to lift its restrictions on Wednesday June 2nd.

With the extension, the province is telling residents to stay home, trips to a secondary residence should be avoided, unless it is for an essential purpose. The province is telling people to not travel between regions for non-essential reasons.

The office will remain closed to the public during this time but you can phone and leave a message at (519) 338-3010 ext 222. or email [email protected].

CAMPGROUND UPDATE MAY 11TH, 2021

Good afternoon Campers,

We have received many calls, emails and Facebook messages regarding the email we sent out yesterday outlining the guidelines for reopening the Campground. We would like to clarify some of the major points to alleviate any misconceptions you may have.

At this time, we are able to open the campground with very strict regulations until the government amends the Stay-at-Home Order. We have a responsibility to keep our staff, residents and local communities as safe as possible during this period. We will continue to send out regular updates as we learn anything further to these regulations. We do not receive any advanced notice of changes to these regulations and we ask for your patience as we work through this very difficult process.

Based on the questions we have received, here is a list of guidelines for Campers:

1. Access to your unit is limited to those living in your primary residence only.
2. We ask that you remain on your site as much as possible. Children must be monitored at all times.
3. Absolutely no visitors to your site including other campers.
4. Campfires are permitted at your site with your immediately family only.
5. Golf Carts are not to be used on the property.
6. All public areas are closed including washrooms and playgrounds.
7. The Campground will open Saturday May 15th at 8:00am.
8. You can stay overnight but less than 24 hours or a minimum of 14 days. We ask that you use common sense and limit the number visits at this time. You cannot be coming and going.
9. The water is NOT potable and is under boil water advisory.

We have been in consultation with our Public Health Department as well as the Ontario Private Campground Association to receive guidance regarding the regulations set out by the Provincial Government. We are all in this together and as Covid case numbers continue to come down then we can ease these regulations!

Best Regards,
Pike Lake Golf Centre Limited

CAMPGROUND OPENING UPDATE

Dear Campers:

The 2021 season is fast approaching and we would like to thank you for your continued patience. With continued concerns over the rising cases and new variants, our focus remains on keeping our staff and customers safe during this period. The current Stay-at-Home Order has not altered our plans and we will be open on Saturday, May 15th, 2021.

Campers will not be able to access the campground before this date for any non-essential reason. This letter sets out some of the relevant provisions of the Stay-at-Home Order and updated regulations, but is not complete. It is important that occupants review the Stay-at-Home Order and regulations and abide by them. For more information on the Stay-at-Home Order and updated regulations please reference the following links:

https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/200082

https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/r21265

As noted previously, the emergency order places additional emphasis on the need for Ontarians to stay at home except for essential purposes. COVID-19 continues to spread within Ontario at an alarming rate. Please limit your travel to essential reasons only. Note that the Stay-at-Home Order allows individuals to travel to another residence if staying for less than 24 hours or at least 14 days and are permitted to be on the property by the terms of a full season contract.

Access to the campground is provided as long there is a completed 2021 Seasonal Camping Agreement on file and your account is in good standing order. The office is not open to the public; however, we are available via phone during office hours and by email should you have any questions or wish to make a payment.

Our Continued Health and Safety Focus
Please respect the following:

1. Per provincial guidelines, your unit will be made available for access for use by yourself and members of your direct household only. If you are entering the campground, we expect that your travel would be from your primary residence directly to your unit with no trips to local towns.
2. For everyone’s safety, please remain on your site while at the property, except for daily exercise or to drive for essential travel. Children MUST be monitored and under parent supervision AT ALL TIMES.
3. No visitors are allowed at River Place during the Stay-at-Home Order.
4. Per provincial guidelines, no gatherings are permitted during this period. This means you cannot gather with other occupants on your site or deck or in any public space within the property.
5. Campfires are permitted with your household at your own site. People outside of your direct household are not permitted to join at your campfire at this time.
6. For your personal safety and that of our staff, we ask that you do not engage with employees if you see them working on the property. We are asking our employees to stay at least 2 metres away from other individuals.
7. Masks should always be worn as instructed by public health.
8. If you are experiencing any symptoms of illness or have any recent contact with a potential or confirmed case of COVID-19, do not visit River Place and follow provincial guidelines for self-isolation/quarantine as appropriate.
9. No golf carts are to be used on the property.
10. All public areas are closed at this time including the washrooms and playground.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family back and remind everyone to follow all required protocols set in place in order to keep everyone safe. We ask that everyone be respectful of staff and of each other and if the rules are not followed, you will be asked to leave the campground.

These are difficult times and we thank everyone for their patience and understanding. It has not been easy to sort out all of the do’s and don’ts that are required to open but we are excited to be able to open the campground on May 15th while following the current restrictions imposed by the government.

Best Regards,
River Place Campground Ltd.

Dear Seasonal Campers,

The Stay-At-Home Emergency Order put in place from the Ontario Government means no-one should be travelling unless it is absolutely essential. Checking on your trailer, or stopping by for a day visit is NOT essential and is not permitted by River Place Campground.

- The Seasonal Campground is CLOSED to the public. We cannot permit anyone to access the campgrounds during this emergency order.

- As our Seasonal Camping Agreement states, the camping season runs from May 15 to October 15. At this time, we hope to open the campground on May 15 but this is all dependent on restrictions from the Ontario Government and our local health department. We will update our campers on our website, social media, and by email if this opening date changes at all.

- All areas of the campground are closed to the general public and only staff are able to access at this time to work to prepare for season opening. (This means no walking in to check your trailer, or to walk through using the campground as a walking trail)

- If you have any questions or concerns, please email [email protected] as our staff are not in-office to take phone calls.

Thank you for your understanding. We hope the actions we all take now will mean we can soon have a great summer of camping!

Update July 21, 2020

After further consultation with our health department, we have decided the risk far outweighs the benefit of opening the public washrooms, laundry rooms, pool, playgrounds and rec. hall at this time due to the ongoing risk of spreading Covid-19.

We have made the decision to keep these facilities closed for the remainder of the season. Our goal at River Place is that you enjoy the rest of the camping season without adding any further health risk to you, your friends and families or our staff.

A huge thank you to all of our valued campers, residents and guests new and old for your support and encouragement as we continue to adapt to the changes and precautions surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email [email protected]

07/07/2020

Although our buildings at River Place remain closed to the public for the time being (washrooms, laundry room, rec. hall, etc.), please take special note of this order coming into effect as surrounding businesses in Grey Bruce and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph will require you wear a face covering to enter enclosed public spaces.

Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health, Doctor Ian Arra, is giving notice of intent to Order the mandatory wearing of face coverings in enclosed public places. The Order will be issued and coming into effect within the next 10 days as per consultation with stakeholders.

Public Health has been in ongoing discussion with stakeholders in respect to the details and language of the Order. This will ensure the Order is appropriate and proportionate to the local needs and that it can be implemented in a manner that is practical, equitable, and does not infringe on the rights of people who cannot tolerate facial covering due to medical conditions.

Accumulating epidemiological evidence indicates that the widespread use of Face Coverings in public decreases spread of respiratory droplets, and expert opinion supports the widespread use of face coverings to decrease transmission of COVID-19.

“Wearing of face coverings in enclosed public spaces further reduces the risk of transmission of COVID-19.” says Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ian Arra. “It is of critical importance that the use of face coverings does not become a replacement to the current effective practices of physical distancing, handwashing, screening for symptoms among others. Face covering should be used in combination with these practices to break the chain of transmission of the virus.”
